Miami has a complicated feminist history, but it is a powerful story painted by female leadership. Miami’s founder, Julia Tuttle, grants us the status as the only major American city founded by a woman; we have a newly elected and first female county mayor, Daniella Levine Cava; Miami Marlins' new leadership features the first female GM for a major league baseball team - Kim Ng. However, we also carry some of the highest human and sex trafficking rates in the country, and the socioeconomic impact of the pandemic is gendered. Join us for a virtual lunch discussion on female leadership in Miami, and how the Harvard community can elevate awareness and impact on its future. This group discussion will be led by Young Professionals Committee Co-Chair Jade Reichling, AB'09.
