CALM ASSERTIVE LEADERS - PRESENTATION BY LARRY STYBEL

IN AN UNSTABLE WORLD, YOUR STAKEHOLDERS NEED YOU TO BE A CALM ASSERTIVE LEADER:  We Teach You to Fake It Until You Become It.

Join the HBS Club of South Florida on February 28th at Toppel Career Center starting at 6:30pm.  This is Larry Stybel's second visit to the HBS Club of South Florida.  Two years ago he gave a talk on developing/expanding board options.

Participants will be provided with tools they can use to become Calm Assertive Leaders under conditions that are less than calm.  This talk integrates research in psycholinguistics, neurobiology, and leadership in the real world.

Program Objectives:

  1.  Why it is important for you to be perceived by others as a calm assertive leader.
  2.  The role of testosterone and cortisol in your leadership behavior,
  3.  How you can manipulate these two hormones through non chemical techniques.
  4.  How to use key words to create the impression of calm assertive leadership.

This talk is based on two articles written by Larry Stybel and Maryanne Peabody in PSYCHOLOGY TODAY and Stybel Peabody's NAVIGATING THE WATERFALL is the WHAT COLOR IS YOUR PARACHUTE? of the 21st Century. Amazon ranks the book in the 13th percentile of 1.8 Million titles sold.
