Juan del Busto
Regional Executive
Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Miami Branch
Juan del Busto is regional executive of the Miami Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. He is responsible for the Branch’s Board of Directors, leads community outreach and development activities, oversees Miami’s economic and financial education programs, and provides regional input into the Atlanta Fed’s monetary policy process.

Mr. del Busto joined the Miami Branch in 1973 as a computer operator and held various managerial positions until he was promoted to administrator in 1983. He was promoted to assistant vice president with responsibility for the securities, accounting and human resources departments in 1986 and was named assistant branch manager in 1989. He was promoted to vice president and branch manager in 2003 and appointed regional executive in September 2008. He currently serves as a member of the Operations Officers Conference.

Mr. del Busto is a member of a number of organizations: FloridaFIRST, Florida Bankers Association, the Cuban American Bankers Association, American Numismatic Association, Cuban Numismatic Association, Florida United Numismatics, Zoological Society of Florida, Florida International University Alumni Association, NFL Alumni Association, The Ohio State University Alumni Association, and the Miami Touchdown Club.

Mr. del Busto is active in the United Way campaign and serves in the following capacities: member of the board of directors, trustee, member of the executive committee, member of the finance and administration committee, and co-chair of the 2010-2011 fund raising campaign. In the Dade County Public School System, he is chairman of a general advisory committee, a member of the educational excellence council, vice chairman of the superintendent’s business advisory council, and a dade partner for Miami Coral Park Senior High School. Mr. del Busto is a member of the Business Advisory Committee of Miami-Dade College, a member of the board of directors of the Florida Council on Economic Education, a member of Florida International University’s Masters in Finance Program Advisory Board, a member of the board of directors of the South Florida Center for Financial Training and currently serves as chairman. Additionally, Mr. del Busto is a member of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Latin Builders Association, as well as the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, serves on its Education Committee and co-chairs its strategic plan project.

A native of Havana, Cuba, he holds an associate in arts degree from Miami Dade Community College and a bachelor of science degree in industrial technology from Florida International University. He has completed the executive development program at The Ohio State University and has studied with the American Management Association.
