Join the Harvard Club of Miami for a special performance at the Arsht Center for a performance of La bohème, Puccini's passionate and time less story of bohemian lovers in Paris. The evening kicks off at 6:00pm with a 20 minute discussion in English of the story and the particulars of the Opera and then opportunity to visit the Patrons Lounge before the performance and during intermission. A cash bar is available.
About the performance: They’re starving for everything but love. Rodolfo loves Mimì, Marco loves Musetta, Colline loves philosophy, Schaunard loves music, and they all love their eccentric bohemian life in the garrets of Paris’ 19th century Latin Quarter. Starving artists all, this crazy cadre of young friends bear their poverty with laughter and grace, until it devastates them with unspeakable tragedy. With beloved favorites like “Che gelida manina,” “Quando m’en vo’,” and “Donde lieta uscì,” Puccini’s divinely romantic score memorably illustrates the joys, struggles, loves, quarrels, triumphs, and tragedies of six friends and lovers as they embody the true vie de bohème.
