Our guest presenter will be Harvard alumnus Frank N. Newman. He will discuss Money and Treasuries in the 21st Century (preread attached). Frank has served as Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Treasury. In addition, Frank had a long and extensive career in financial services serving as Chairman and CEO of two international banks, Vice Chairman and CFO of another major U.S. bank, a corporate director, and as advisor to companies and private equity firms.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER

Frank N. Newman
Frank Newman has served as Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Treasury, Chairman and CEO of two international banks, a corporate director, and advisor to companies and private equity firms. He invented a new cybersecurity design, holds several patents for it, and is CEO of PathGuard, a company based on the technology.

He is also a founding director of Alpha 8, providing innovative financing for companies with strong intellectual capital.

Mr. Newman served as Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Treasury Department, overseeing a broad range of functions domestically and internationally, and as Chief Operating Officer of the Department.

He also served as Chairman and CEO of Bankers Trust Corporation, a major international bank. He later became Chairman and CEO of Shenzhen Development Bank, a listed bank operating in major cities in China, after a U.S.-based private equity firm invested in the bank. Previously, he served as CFO of Wells Fargo, then Vice Chairman & CFO of Bank of America.

Mr. Newman has served as a director of corporations in the U.S. and other countries, including Dow Jones, two SPACs, and private equity portfolio companies.

Mr. Newman also served on the Board of Trustees and the Investment Committee of Carnegie Hall. He holds a BA from Harvard with high honors in economics, and has written two books and several articles on economic matters.
